This Weeks Print Inspiration: Dinner and a Movie

The air is thick with talk of love, Valentines and chocolate! My husband and I will be jumping on the "Love" bandwagon and sneak away from our parental duties for a night out; dinner and a movie. Now I know many of you out there say dinner and a movie is overdone, predictable and perhaps even boring. As a parent of two toddlers, I couldn't disagree more.

Here are my reasons why "Dinner and a Movie" is still a great date
1. Our everyday is an adventure; a day with two toddlers (any number of children for that matter) requires a great deal of energy, each day is unpredictable and is never boring.
2. Completely free; your dinner isn't free but you sure feel free! Order wine for dinner, hell, have the bottle not just the glass. Food isn't just consumed, it is enjoyed. If there are any complaints about the food it will be from you. Your food isn't cold because you left it there to wipe mouths, fill up milk cups or negotiate on how much food they have to eat to have dessert. As for the movie, you are free to watch one that isn't animated or rated G.
3. It's easy; not that it's simple to do, but to do something is simple. You want to talk to each other? Done! You may talk to each other at a respectable volume without distractions or interruptions. Want to kiss? Done! People may stare but they won't ask you to explain what a kiss is, why are you kissing, can I kiss the dog and so forth. Want to sit snuggled in the dark and watch a movie with sound that makes the whole room rumble? Done! Sit back, relax and enjoy.
4. It's refreshing; it's a simple night out but afterwards you feel refreshed, reacquainted and grateful for the time you have as a family as well as a couple.

What are your thoughts on "Dinner and Movie"?

I completely agree. I love dinner and a movie. We did the same date for Valentine's Day.
