Working on this little canvas for the Dove Project from the fantastic @art_by_lidia
I may have gotten a little ambitious when sketching my idea. I often get stuck there out of fear of ruining it with paint and colour but I need to push myself creatively so I went with it. Here are the process pictures...I think it turned out well and it was little difficult to part with it.
It has been a great reminder that I need to do more painting!
Sometimes a special order gets a special hand drawn embellishment!
I wish I could draw these little floral drawings quicker (or worry less about it being perfect) and add something to each envelope but I am not there yet. Goal maybe?
We have been making changes in our lives and household over the last 2 years (some big, some small) to help Mother Earth. I feel so good seeing the impact that just we have made and love seeing all the good changes happening out in the world. Thank you Mother Earth for putting up with us humans...we won’t let you down! ❤️ Happy Earth Day ❤️
It’s almost Easter weekend and so I am taking some time to reflect and practice my florals in my sketch journal. The simple act of sketching/doodling really soothes my mind and soul. How are you finding internal calm these days?
Someone recently mentioned that this print was exactly what they needed to see right now. That made me feel good that it made them feel good. I hope you are all finding a way to stay well, physically, mentally and emotionally.
Happy Valentines Day!
Does anyone still celebrate? No matter what you’re doing, who you’re doing or not doing today...enjoy yourself because above all else...it’s Friday!
I know people dislike the commercialism of the upcoming Valentine's Day but I am a sucker for love and as you can see by my cards...I am a true romantic!!
I have stacks of paper cut offs from my prints/cards and decided to use them to make these mini pages. I am working on sketching everyday, so these are perfect. As you can see, it’s all abstract right now...maybe I’ll even add colour to them? We’ll see where it all leads.
It seems harder to find time to spend in the studio these days but I made it a priority to MAKE time today. Even though the time was spent planning and taking inventory, it still felt good being in here and getting organized.
It’s the end of another year! I am looking forward to 2020, not to start over or to re-set but instead to continue...continue to grow, explore and do the things that scare me.
So thank you to every single person who has visited my shop, viewed my social media posts, for every person who has encouraged me and supported me. You have fueled me and will continue to fuel me. Thank you, it means the world to me!! Happy New Year!!
This is the place where I share my creative projects, endeavors and the stories that inspire my prints.
