Loving the Now: "Beauty is in the Blooming" Blog Tour

When Melissa over at Print Therapy introduced "Beauty is in the Blooming" over on OMHG...it struck a chord with me as a small creative business owner but truthfully it truly resonated with me as a parent....as a mother.  
For years and years, we thought our dream to expand our family beyond the two of us (and our dog) would never happen and then finally, by the grace of God, we were blessed with our daughter. Life was busy before that, us, our dog, our home, our careers but then we truly learned what busy was! 

Much to our surprise, when our daughter was not even 6 months old, we learned that we were pregnant again! Two children, 15 months aparts...life was officially crazy! (I have serious respect for families with more children.) 

For the first year with both of them it was a little tough. I admit to crying quite a bit because I couldn't seem to get everything done and for a structured, control/neat freak like me...that is a difficult thing to come to terms with.

Now it has been almost 5 years since we have had them both and life is still crazy, but as every parent does, everything single day you change, you grow, you acquiesce and most importantly you see the beauty in their blooming.
When they get dressed all on their own, I remember the days when they couldn't even get a shirt on. When they set the table and help make their breakfast in the morning, I think of the day I first introduced 'real' food to them. When they draw a picture of a pony, princess, dinosaur or robot, I think of the day they first finger painted. When they are screaming and telling on each other, I think of the day they said their first word

With the summer finally here and today being their official last day of school, I am looking forward to spending the summer with them. We have plans to do so many things and they are excited to be spending the summer with me for the first time in 4 years but truthfully, I am just excited that I have the opportunity to be here and to watch them bloom.
